Working Hard in Kiswahili

10th June 2022

Children in Primary have been enjoying every second of their Swahili lessons: each class has been focusing on a different topic area, with everyone eagerly awaiting their next lesson each week.

Nice to meet you! Year 7 have been developing their grammar, using a range of tenses and sentence structures to discuss where they are from, and where they are living. They have begun to share details about their daily lives both verbally through role play activities, and in their written work.

Year 3 have been learning the names for various ailments in Kiswahili, identifying and discussing which ones they have suffered from, as well as their causes. In upcoming lessons, children will learn how to share details about their illnesses, something which will certainly come in handy for their next trip to the doctor! This has linked fantastically to their class topic, Ancient Greece, who were pioneers of many forms of medicine.
