We have all heard of Britain’s Got Talent, but have you heard of Braeburn’s Got Talent?! Well it was a must see over the last few weeks of last term. BNIS was spoilt with children and staff showing off their talents. The talents ranged from acting and singing to dancing, gymnastics and some stand up comedy.
We were sat in the Podo Theatre, waiting to see who was going to blow us away with their talent that morning when we heard the revving of motorbikes in the distance. Next thing we knew, the Wason boys were zooming across the stage on their motorbike, turning in circles and showing off their skills. Kayen and Mr Gatimu were dribbling dynamites as they scored goals and showed us their many tricks with the football. Not only did we get to witness some high speed action, but we were also lucky enough to meet Blue, the dog, accompanied by Cedar and Wolf. Blue’s listening skills were top notch and we could clearly see how much he loved being led by Cedar.
Silas and Euan transformed themselves into their comic personas and had the audience laughing with their ‘dad jokes’. Holly blew us away with her fantastic musical performance of a song from Matilda, even using props. Her confidence was incredible and even more amazing to see dancing, acting and singing all done at the same time! We cannot forget the wonderful staff performances: Mrs House surprised us all with her beautiful voice, Mr Gould took the stage by storm with his fancy footwork and dance moves. Martin and the Leso Ladies sprinkled some Kenyan culture all over the theatre with their colourful leso’s, shouts of celebration and dance moves that made you want to get up and join them.
Our finalists blew us away at the end of term bonanza and as voted for by the audience, it was Merry Maddie who took the crown as the Braeburn’s Got Talent Winner 2022!
A massive congratulations once again to everyone who took part, it takes a lot of courage to stand in front of a whole school. We thoroughly enjoyed being able to watch ‘Braeburn’s Got Talent’ and cannot wait for the next one, get practising!
