At Braeburn Nanyuki, we have a variety of ways that parents can share their thoughts and opinions with us.
We operate an Open Door Policy which means you are free to approach us at any time to ask questions or give feedback. This can be in-person or via phone message/email - if you have something to ask or share, do not hesitate - send it through to us!
Each term we hold a Parent Forum which has an agenda set by the parents. By submitting a request in advance, any area or process at the school can presented on, by senior leadership to explain current practice. We also add items that we know are 'trending' within parent discussions to ensure people have the opportunity to learn more about the school.
Our volunteer FANs (Friends at Nanyuki School) 'Class Links' share information with us that they have learned through their unofficial class groups and in discussion with other parents from their classes. We also have parent representatives on our School Development Committee (SDC), alongside members from Braeburn Head Office, BNIS senior staff and teacher representatives. This SDC meets 2-3 times per year to discuss ideas for school development and to help ensure that everyone's voice is represented within decision-making - our current parent reps have been incredibly actively involved in the offering of ideas.
We also conduct surveys, sometimes with a focused on a targeted area or process at the school, and other times more broadly. Most recently, we did a general survey (June/July 2025) which revealed that:
